The Baxter Evolving Health Programme has been set up to work in consultation with NHS Trusts to find innovative solutions that meet with the QIPP agenda. We are committed to helping you find ways to do things differently, to improve quality for patient care and also to release savings.

We are driven by the NHS goal to improve outcomes for patients more efficiently. Our expertise across the entire patient pathway means we are uniquely placed to identify opportunities for service redesign, whether it is in effective and fully integrated long-term condition programmes, smarter ways of managing demand for acute care or managing procurement and business management services to improve both efficiencies and patient experience.

We want to work in true partnership with NHS clinicians and managers, developing tailored and practical solutions to problems specific to your Trust. Together we have a real opportunity to deliver on QIPP objectives with a win-win scenario for all, and most importantly the patient. Please contact your local Evolving Health consultant to see how we can help you.

"The QIPP initiative is identifying how efficiencies can be driven and services redesigned to achieve the twin aims of improved quality and efficiency."
Equity and Excellence: Liberating the NHS, Department of Health white paper, July 2010

"We need an entirely new relationship with industry based on partnership, not just transactions."
David Nicholson - Innovation, Health and Wealth, Accelerating Adoption and Diffiusion in the NHS, Department of Health, December 2011

Anaesthesia

Anaesthesia has played a major role in making surgical intervention a viable therapeutic option in healthcare.

There are two basic categories of anaesthesia: general anaesthesia, which renders the patient unconscious, and local or regional anaesthesia, which blocks sensation in a particular area of the body. Baxter is a leading manufacturer of products for general anaesthesia. These include anaesthetic gases, or inhaled anaesthetics, and anaesthesia-related critical care drugs.
